In regard to our previously posted customer information dated 14. May 2010 referring to the new MARPOL Annex VI regulations, please be advised that as per 1. July 2010 the MARPOL surcharge will be adjusted from presently EUR 4.00 per TEU as follows:

SHORT Haul destinations (Baltic Sea and Scandinavia):              EUR 6,90 per TEU

LONG Haul destinations (Spain, Portugal, UK & Ireland):         EUR 8,65 per TEU  

This covers all vessels trading in the SECA (Sulphur Emission Control Area) area either for loading or discharge of containers.

The adjustment to our MARPOL surcharge is applied only as a cost recovery measure for the extra costs Team Lines faces in connection with the implementation of the MARPOL – Annex VI regulations, effective as from 1. July 2010.

Purchase cost difference between CST 380 1,5 % and 1,0 % low sulphur for the first 5 months in 2010 is on average plus EUR 21.19 (6%) per ton when considering rate of exchange (EUR/USD) as well as the actual time and port of purchase for Team Lines. In case the gap will develop either way, it is needless to say that Team Lines will adjust the surcharge accordingly.

We hope for your kind understanding for Team Lines taking this step as a necessary means to comply with pan-European legislation promoting the environmental sustainability in maritime transport.
